Affinity Plus Foundation Launches Second Annual “Donate to Defeat Hunger” Fundraiser

Volunteers working and giving out food at food bank

Donations will be accepted over 10 days and matched up to $15,000

The Affinity Plus Foundation is proud to announce the return of Donate to Defeat Hunger, a 10-day campaign supporting Feeding America food banks across Minnesota. From September 3 through September 13, community members are invited to join the fight against hunger by making a donation at any participating Affinity Plus branch or online at affinityplus.org/hunger.

September is Hunger Action Month, and the Affinity Plus Foundation is matching all donations up to $15,000. Every dollar makes a powerful difference—just $1 provides 6 meals for Minnesotans facing hunger. Currently, 1 in 5 households are experiencing hunger in Minnesota. The Affinity Plus Foundation believes in the importance of addressing food insecurity and is committed to ensuring people have access to basic essentials, so they don’t go hungry and can focus on achieving their bigger goals. Donations made at Affinity Plus branches in the Twin Cities metro, Mankato, Hastings, St. Cloud, and Cambridge will directly support Second Harvest Heartland.

“At the Affinity Plus Foundation, we believe no one in Minnesota should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from,” said Jacquie Twedt, Board Chair of the Affinity Plus Foundation. “By partnering with local food banks through Donate to Defeat Hunger, we can make sure every dollar stretches further, and together we can help thousands of families access the meals they need.”

As a special thank-you, on Friday, Sept. 12, the first 30 donors at each participating branch who give more than $5 will receive a $5 Caribou Coffee gift card. This offer is valid during normal branch hours while supplies last.
