The recognition reflects MCU’s people-first philosophy and its commitment to building an award-winning workplace culture that is inclusive, growth-oriented, and exceptional.
Municipal Credit Union (MCU) has been recognized as one of New York’s Best & Brightest Companies to Work For® in 2025 by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR). This marks the second consecutive year MCU has earned this prestigious certification, underscoring its ongoing commitment to fostering an outstanding workplace environment and culture.
The Best & Brightest Companies to Work For® program identifies and honors organizations that excel in employee enrichment, engagement and retention. Selected companies are evaluated by an independent research firm based on various criteria, including leadership, strategic planning, compensation, benefits, work-life balance and wellness programs, and employee development.
“As a credit union, our mission is to help hard-working New Yorkers build better tomorrows. Our ability to do that starts with engaged, mission-focused employees,” said Kyle Markland, Chief Executive Officer of MCU. “One of our core values is Belonging, and that philosophy is reflected in our workplace culture. We believe it is our innovative practices and commitment to employee satisfaction that set MCU apart among New York employers. At MCU, every individual is empowered to grow, thrive, and use their voice – and we’re thrilled others are taking notice.”
So far in 2025, MCU has invested $23 million in its Total Rewards Program that delivers comprehensive wellness, and benefits packages that support the physical, mental, and financial well-being of its employees. Additionally, MCU has provided over 7,000 training hours across its organization and 25 internal promotions, reflecting its deep commitment to professional development. MCU also provides employees with opportunities to engage in community service throughout the year with nonprofit partners of its charitable arm, the MCU Foundation.
“This recognition inspires us to keep pushing boundaries with a bold, people-first approach, to keep investing in development, and ensuring that our team has everything they need to belong, to succeed, and to thrive,” added Toni-Ann Sforza, MCU’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer.
