Good Vibes Foundation builds on a legacy of giving, underscores the Credit Union’s commitment to ‘people helping people’
Vibe Credit Union, with more than 74,000 members and $1.36 billion in assets, today announces the launch of the Good Vibes Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity designed to create a new chapter in Vibe’s long-standing commitment to the people, programs, and neighborhoods of Southeast Michigan.
The creation of the Foundation allows Vibe to move faster, reach deeper, and partner intentionally with organizations closest to community needs. As a member-owned cooperative, Vibe reinvests earnings locally. The Good Vibes Foundation extends this cooperative model beyond banking, transforming local success into direct community support and provides structure for giving through grants.
“The concept of elevating community and creating opportunity has been at the heart of our work at Vibe Credit Union,” said Stephanie Leahy, Vice President of Community Impact at Vibe Credit Union and Executive Director of the Good Vibes Foundation. “The Good Vibes Foundation will provide a platform to make an even more significant impact and invest in the essential building blocks that allow communities to grow with dignity and stability.”
The Good Vibes Foundation will focus on Financial Empowerment, Inclusion and Community Betterment initiatives in three core areas of impact:
- Financial Education: By providing practical, real-world education on budgeting, credit, and saving, the Good Vibes Foundation will help individuals build sustainable futures.
- Food Security: With 1.5 million Michiganders facing hunger, the Foundation will lend its resources to initiatives that ensure consistent access to nutritious food.
- Housing Stability: The Foundation will support organizations that help neighbors find, secure, and maintain safe housing, recognizing that home stability is foundational to success in work and school.
The Good Vibes Foundation has created a straightforward grant process to reduce barriers for nonprofits to access funding. Grants will be awarded to nonprofits within proximity of Vibe Credit Union’s branch network to ensure resources directly benefit the local community. The first grant cycle will launch in Spring 2026.
To support its work, the Good Vibes Foundation will host a pickleball fundraiser on March 21 at Paddle & Par in Beverly Hills, Mich as part of its broader community engagement efforts. Learn more about the event and the Good Vibes Foundation at www.vibecreditunion.com/foundation.
