Ventura County Credit Union makes $500K investment in fighting food insecurity

Ventura County Credit Union just announced a $500,000 commitment to Food Share of Ventura County. This funding will support construction of an 85,000-square-foot facility that will more than double Food Share’s capacity.

The numbers tell a compelling story: Food Share currently serves 250,000 Ventura County residents annually, distributing 21 million pounds of food. The new consolidated warehouse will enable them to distribute 40 million pounds annually by 2040. This is a critical expansion as inflation, rising cost of essentials and the lasting effects of the pandemic fuel an increase in food insecurity.

This donation represents decades of partnership between VCCU and Food Share, with intensified support over the past years specifically for this capital campaign.
