Local advocacy efforts reached a milestone on Tuesday, with all 14 America’s Credit Unions‘ PAC-supported candidates advancing to the general election, reinforcing the credit union movement’s unified voice in Illinois.
Most notably, former Member of Congress Melissa Bean continued her comeback bid by taking 31 percent of the vote against Junaid Ahmed to win the Democratic nomination in the 8th District.
Another race to track, IL-07, La Shawn K Ford took the Democratic nomination, securing his path to the general election.
Both candidates are heavy favorites come November.
