American Heritage Credit Union (“American Heritage”) recently completed its 6th Annual Paw Pals Donation Drive, which collects new and gently-used supply items for dogs and cats to be donated to local shelters and support programs for pets.
This year’s collection was the most successful to date, with more than 2,000 items donated by American Heritage associates for this cause. First Heritage Mortgage Services and Member Business Financial Solutions, two subsidiaries of American Heritage, also contributed to the Drive’s tremendous success.
65 American Heritage associates volunteered their time to organize donations and deliver them to participating organizations. These items will be donated to twelve local shelters and pet support programs throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. The programs that will be receiving these items include locations such as the Philadelphia and Bucks County SPCAs, LuckyPups Rescue in Abington, PURR Rescue in Philadelphia, the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, New Jersey, and more.
“We were extremely pleased by the success of this year’s Paw Pals drive and the outstanding support it received from our associates,” said Diana Clark, AVP, Payroll and Recruiting for American Heritage Credit Union. “The staff donated over 2,000 new and used supplies to support our local shelters in the communities we serve, while also caring for our environment which is deeply meaningful to us. The Green Team at American Heritage eagerly anticipates this event each year. Opportunities like this matter to our associates because these events allow them to connect with the community, a core value of both credit unions and American Heritage.”
Paw Pals is just one of several volunteer opportunities that American Heritage offers to its associates. Other Green initiatives include highway clean-ups, a recycling book drive, and a coat and sneaker drive benefiting the Purple Heart Foundation. Associates are also able to volunteer for the organization’s annual community events, such as its Member Appreciation Day & Car Show in the spring and its Grand Illumination event during the holidays. American Heritage associates can also support its Adopt-A-Family Program, which holds various events and fundraisers throughout the year to raise money to support less fortunate families during the holiday season.
