Here’s what happens when you combine hundreds of beautiful cars, thousands of community members, and one credit union that actually walks the walk: over $29,500 raised for kids who need it most.
American Heritage Credit Union and BIG 98.1 just wrapped their 22nd Annual Car Show and Member Appreciation Day, and the numbers tell a pretty impressive story. More than 340 cars rolled in. Over 8,000 people showed up. And every dollar raised went straight to the Kids-N-Hope Foundation, which brings music therapy and other health services to pediatric patients.
More Than Just Shiny Paint and Chrome
Sure, the car show brought out some serious eye candy—classic beauties, muscle cars that still make your heart race, and modern exotics that probably cost more than most houses. Trophies went home with the top rides across eight categories: Antique, Modern, Muscle, Street, Stock, Modified, Imports, and Exotics.
But the real star of the show? The community coming together for a good cause.
Something for Everyone
Even if you can’t tell a carburetor from a catalytic converter, this event had you covered. Attendees browsed through a 40-vendor craft show, let the kids loose in the Family Fun Zone, visited a petting zoo (because who doesn’t love goats?), and caught BIG 98.1’s live broadcast. It was basically the perfect Saturday for the whole family.
Three Decades of Making a Difference
Here’s the part that really matters: the Kids-N-Hope Foundation has been at this for 30 years now. Since day one, they’ve donated over $5.1 million to programs that enhance pediatric patients’ lives through music therapy and other health services. Their reach includes Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and other nonprofit organizations throughout the area.
Music therapy might not sound as dramatic as major surgery, but ask any parent of a sick kid—anything that brings comfort and healing matters. A lot.
“We love hosting our members and the greater community each year during our annual Member Appreciation Day & Car Show,” said Bruce K. Foulke, President & CEO of American Heritage Credit Union and Founder of the Kids-N-Hope Foundation. “This event is a tangible way for us to thank our members and show how we appreciate their continued loyalty and dedication. Through this event, we’re also able to bring more awareness to the Kids-N-Hope Foundation, which supports pediatric health and life services, such as music therapy, for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and other local hospitals and nonprofit organizations. I extend my sincere thanks to all our credit union members and community members who stopped by, as well as our staff for dedicating their time to help us put forth such an amazing event.”
Twenty-two years running. Over $29,500 raised this time around. Thousands of people having a great day while supporting kids in need. That’s the kind of community event that deserves to stick around for another 22 years.
