Unitus Launches New International Remittance Service “Movi” to Expand Access for Members Supporting Loved Ones Abroad

Unitus Community Credit Union has launched Movi, a new international remittance service, to give members a more accessible, affordable way to support family and loved ones across borders.

As part of that commitment, Unitus is waiving fees on eligible cross-border transfers through Aug. 31, 2026.

Offered through partnerships with Visa and PayMitto, Movi gives members a secure digital option for sending money internationally. The new service reflects Unitus’ commitment to breaking down barriers to financial access and providing practical solutions that help members navigate important moments in their lives. Since its May 8 launch, members have completed 41 transfers to recipients in 13 countries, signaling early demand for the service.

Unitus is the first credit union offering Movi.

Movi is available through Unitus Digital Banking on desktop and mobile, allowing members to initiate transfers through the same channels they already use for everyday banking.

Recipients can receive funds in several ways:

  • Transfer to a bank account
  • Transfer to a debit card
  • Cash pickup

“At Unitus, we’re focused on making financial services more accessible and more meaningful for the people we serve,” said Steven Stapp, CEO of Unitus Community Credit Union. “Movi helps members support loved ones abroad with confidence, while reflecting our mission to inspire hope, remove barriers and be a trusted partner through life’s defining moments.”

Since Movi’s launch, the most common destination countries have been Mexico, Brazil, the Philippines, Guatemala, Costa Rica and the United Kingdom. Members can send funds to recipients in more than 50 countries.

The promotional fee waiver applies to eligible transfers completed through Aug. 31, 2026.
