Floridacentral Credit Union just made a power play in the tech department.
Meet Yvette Cintron, the credit union’s newly appointed Chief Information Officer—and she’s bringing three decades of financial services IT expertise to the table.
This isn’t just a shuffle of the org chart. Cintron steps into the CIO role at a pivotal moment, taking charge of everything from cybersecurity and infrastructure to core systems and enterprise tech. Her mission? Drive the credit union’s technology strategy forward while keeping members’ evolving needs front and center.
Building on a Solid Tech Foundation
Here’s the thing: Floridacentral hasn’t exactly been sitting on its hands when it comes to technology. Over the past three years, they’ve been investing heavily in their digital backbone, including a major migration to a flexible core processing system built for long-term growth. Think of it as trading in an old sedan for something with actual horsepower under the hood.
Cintron’s resume fits like a glove with where the credit union is headed—enhanced digital services, stronger operations, and making banking more convenient across every channel members use.
What Leadership Is Saying
“Technology plays a critical role in how we serve our members today and how we prepare for the future,” explained Linh Dang, President and CEO of Floridacentral Credit Union. “Yvette brings extensive financial institution technology expertise, a thoughtful and collaborative leadership style, and a strong understanding of how technology directly impacts member service. Her experience guiding complex initiatives and strengthening operational resilience will help position Floridacentral Credit Union for continued growth and innovation.”
Cintron is equally enthusiastic about the match. “What drew me to Floridacentral Credit Union was the leadership’s forward-thinking vision for growth and commitment to modernization that enhances member service and strengthens support for the community,” she said. “Floridacentral Credit Union has already built a strong technology foundation, and I’m excited to work with teams across the organization to improve efficiency and deliver new digital capabilities that make banking easier, more secure, and more convenient for our members.”
A Track Record That Speaks Volumes
Throughout her career, Cintron has zeroed in on using technology to actually improve how members experience banking—not just adding bells and whistles for the sake of it. She’s led initiatives to beef up core system environments, implement robust failover sites (that’s tech-speak for backup systems that kick in when things go sideways), and enhance continuity capabilities so members can access their accounts no matter what curveball gets thrown their way.
She’s also big on team culture, fostering collaboration across departments to keep everyone aligned on compliance, decision-making, and making sure staff have the right tools to serve members effectively.
The Background
Before joining Floridacentral, Cintron served as Assistant Vice President of Information Technology at McCoy Federal Credit Union, where she managed IT operations for 15 branch locations. There, she spearheaded strategic initiatives around scalability, service improvements, infrastructure reliability, and business continuity planning—basically, making sure the tech worked when it needed to and could grow along with the organization.
Her academic credentials are equally impressive: a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, a Graduate Certificate in Project Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, all from the University of Central Florida.
Bottom line? Floridacentral Credit Union just brought on someone who knows how to blend technological innovation with real-world member needs—and that’s a combination worth paying attention to.
