Space Coast Credit Union’s Watchdog Heads to a Renaissance Faire (Yes, Really)

Space Coast Credit Union Watchdog Campaign

Space Coast Credit Union is back with another installment of its Watchdog campaign, and this time, their four-legged financial guardian is trading boardrooms for jousting tournaments.

The newest “Banking on It” commercial drops Watchdog into a Renaissance Faire setting—because apparently nothing says “protect your finances” quite like turkey legs and chainmail.

If you caught the first “Banking on It” spot that launched earlier this summer, you already know the playbook: take those everyday words that make dogs lose their minds (think “walk,” “treat,” and “good boy”), then use them to highlight how SCCU helps members make smarter banking decisions. It’s clever, it’s fun, and honestly, it works.

“Watchdog has become a powerful symbol of what our members can expect from Space Coast Credit Union,” said Joelle Hahn, SCCU’s SVP of Marketing. The timing makes sense too—as the credit union celebrates 75 years in business and continues expanding its footprint across Florida, they’re doubling down on what’s working.

A Character With Staying Power

Since Watchdog first trotted onto the scene in 2023, the character has become the face of SCCU’s commitment to protecting members’ financial well-being. The “Banking on It” campaign took that foundation and added a fresh twist by weaving in those relatable dog behaviors we all recognize. The Renaissance Faire setting is just the latest evolution—proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks (sorry, had to).

The campaign isn’t just sticking to one channel either. You’ll spot Watchdog across digital ads, billboards, social media, major TV networks, connected TV apps, and audio streaming platforms. They’re casting a wide net to reach both English and Spanish-speaking audiences throughout the state.

The Team Behind the Magic

Space Coast Credit Union partnered with advertising and PR agency &Barr, along with Diamond View and Cahoots Studios, to bring this campaign to life. It’s the second creative launch in SCCU’s 2026 Watchdog campaign, and based on how well the first one landed, we’re guessing this Renaissance romp won’t be the last adventure for their trusty mascot.

Because at the end of the day, whether you’re at a faire or just trying to figure out your financial future, it helps to have a good watchdog in your corner.
