Center Parc Credit Union Backs Newton County Teens’ Big Business Ideas Through FLEX

Alcovy High School students, Center Parc Credit Union team members, and local business leaders gather for the Newton County FLEX Business Plan Workshop on September 30, 2026, in Social Circle, Georgia.

Center Parc Credit Union, presenting sponsor of the Newton County FLEX (Foundational Leadership and Entrepreneur X-perience) program, helped students from Alcovy High School turn raw business ideas into real plans at a Business Plan Workshop on September 30, 2026.

The session took place at the Georgia Bio Science Training Center in Social Circle, Georgia. Students came with their marketing instructor, Dr. Quinita Morrow, and met representatives from Newton County Schools, the Newton County Chamber of Commerce, and the Newton County Industrial Development Authority. The format was hands-on rather than lecture-heavy, so students could question working professionals directly and pick up skills they’ll need to start and grow a business.

The agenda covered five areas: how to turn an idea into a viable business, how to understand customers and competition, how to develop products and run daily operations, how to build marketing and sales strategies, and how to handle funding, pricing, and profitability. In short, it covered everything between “I have a great idea” and “I’m still in business three years later.”

Center Parc team members brought experience in operations, marketing, sales, and financial planning. Alongside other local business leaders, they walked students through the practical questions every founder faces: how to win customers, how to bring in sales, and how to keep expenses from eating the profits. The focus stayed on building something that lasts, not just something that launches.

“At Center Parc, we believe financial education and mentorship are powerful tools for creating opportunity,” said Blake Westbrook, Chief Growth Officer at Center Parc Credit Union. “Supporting the Newton County FLEX program gives us an opportunity to share real-world knowledge, encourage young entrepreneurs, and help students build the confidence and skills they need to turn their ideas into something meaningful. We’re proud to play a role in helping shape the next generation of business leaders.”

The credit union’s role goes well beyond writing a check. Through mentorship, hands-on involvement, and introductions to local professionals, Center Parc is helping close the gap between the classroom and the working world. The payoff, ideally, is a new crop of business owners and community leaders who keep Newton County growing for years to come.
