Whitefish Credit Union has promoted four executives, a reshuffle timed to match its growing footprint across Montana, from new branches to a bigger online and mobile banking presence.
Scott Bolster is now Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Colleen Murphy is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Both moved up from senior vice president roles. Josh Wilson, formerly Senior Vice President of Marketing, becomes Chief Marketing Officer, and Matt Venturini, formerly Senior Vice President of Lending, becomes Chief Lending Officer.
The timing is no accident. The member-owned cooperative opened its first Missoula branch in October 2025 and plans a Bozeman branch, with groundbreaking set for October 2026. While the brick and mortar goes up, the credit union is also widening its digital reach so members across the state can bank without setting foot in a branch.
“These promotions recognize the contributions of these leaders and the responsibilities they carry as our credit union grows,” said James Kenyon, President and CEO. “Together, they will help guide our expansion and strengthen our ability to serve more members across Montana.”
Bolster brings more than 25 years in financial services management, over 20 of them in credit union executive leadership. He joined Whitefish in 2021 and holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from San Jose State University. His service record includes stints on the California Credit Union League’s Board of Governors and the Bay Area Better Business Bureau’s Board of Directors, plus a seat on Stanislaus County’s Elder Abuse Prevention Committee.
Murphy has deep Montana roots in the credit union world. She started in 1989, spent more than 25 years at a Missoula-based credit union, and came to Whitefish in 2015. Her résumé covers branch operations, consumer and mortgage lending, card services, and collections. She graduated from Western CUNA Management School in 2005, and in 2026 she was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council, where she offers a credit union view of regional economic conditions.
Wilson joined in 2017 with 20 years of banking experience behind him. He runs marketing, brand strategy, and public relations, and the work has collected honors from credit union marketing associations and the American Advertising Federation. He chairs America’s Credit Unions’ Marketing, PR & Development Council, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Chapman University and a master’s in data marketing communications from West Virginia University.
Venturini is a Kalispell native and Flathead High School graduate with a finance degree from Concordia College in Minnesota. He began at Whitefish as a credit analyst, then built his lending chops at Glacier Bank before returning in 2020. A year later he became Senior Vice President of Lending, overseeing real estate and commercial lending. He also chairs the board of Habitat for Humanity Flathead Valley.
With new branches rising and a digital footprint expanding, Whitefish Credit Union has put proven, mostly homegrown leaders in the seats that matter.
