Volunteers from Addition Financial Credit Union recently delivered more than a ton of non-perishable food donations to three Central Florida schools, helping restock the schools’ needs pantries that were transformed last summer through the credit union’s Renovate to Educate program.
In total, Addition Financial team members collected approximately 2,150 pounds of food, with an estimated retail value of $4,524, during a two-month donation drive held across the credit union’s branches and headquarters. The food was delivered directly to school needs pantries at Engelwood Elementary School in Orlando, Millennium Middle School in Sanford, and Lakeview Elementary School in St. Cloud.
Through the 2025 Renovate to Educate program in partnership with the Addition Financial Foundation, volunteers renovated and stocked the schools’ needs spaces. These pantries support students and families experiencing food insecurity by providing access to essential items in a welcoming, dignified environment. Donated items included ramen noodles, canned tuna and chicken, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, breakfast bars, rice, pasta, canned vegetables, and other shelf-stable foods frequently requested by school partners to meet student needs.
“Renovate to Educate didn’t just refresh a room at Millennium, it restored dignity to the experience,” said Jania Fuller, School Administration Manager at Millennium Middle School. “We’ve served countless students and families, and what makes it even more powerful is every time partners like Addition Financial return to restock, they’re not just filling shelves — they’re reinforcing stability, community, and Falcon Pride.”
“These renovated pantries were created to be living resources — not one-time projects,” said Cristina Lehman, executive director of the Addition Financial Foundation. “The generosity of Addition Financial team members, donating so many essentials mere months after volunteers worked to renovate these spaces, is nothing short of awe-inspiring. By continuing to show up and keep these shelves stocked, we can help ensure students and families have reliable access to food so they can focus on what matters most — learning and growth.”
In addition to supporting Central Florida schools, Addition Financial team members working in North Florida and South Georgia also participated in the food drive. Team members collected and donated 691 pounds of food to the Second Harvest of the Big Bend, helping extend the program’s impact to communities across the credit union’s broader footprint.
