The 2025 Alabama Advocacy Conference, hosted by the Alabama Credit Union Association, a subsidiary of The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates, successfully brought together 133 attendees from across the state.
The conference featured two days of sessions, with presentations on key legislative priorities. Topics included protecting members from financial fraud, enhancing credit union operations, and fostering better engagement with lawmakers.
“The Alabama Advocacy Conference serves as a vital platform for credit unions to unite and understand the legislative issues that affect their members in securing financial wellness,” mentioned Michelle Roth, Vice President of Advocacy for The League and the Alabama Credit Union Association. “With hands on education about these issues, credit unions remain informed and ready to meet with lawmakers to enact change.”
Credit unions had the opportunity to participate in engaging panel discussions and breakout sessions including an informative conversation by Amanda Senn, Director of the Alabama Securities Commission, on protecting members from fraud. Todd Stacy and Mary Sell of Alabama Daily News also gave credit unions an in-depth look at the state’s political environment from a journalistic perspective.
