Bay Federal Credit Union officially marked the opening of its newest full-service branch in Marina, California, with a ribbon-cutting celebration on Wednesday, September 17. The invitation-only event welcomed local dignitaries, business partners, and community leaders to commemorate the milestone and tour the new space.

Held at 140 10th St, Suite 20, Marina, CA 93933, the event featured remarks from Bay Federal Leadership, including President and CEO Carrie Birkhofer, CMO Mark Ely, AVP Branch Manager Denise Gomez, and Monica Lal, President and CEO of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

“It is an honor to be here in Marina to celebrate the opening of our eighth branch and our second in Monterey County,” said Carrie Birkhofer, President and CEO of Bay Federal Credit Union. “We chose Marina for its energy and growth, and we’re excited to serve the community with a full-service branch that combines innovative technology with the friendly expertise our members expect.”

Guests enjoyed catering from Dametra Fresh Mediterranean and custom Bay Federal-themed cookies, creating a festive atmosphere as team members and community members mingled. In celebration of the new Marina branch, Bay Federal Credit Union highlighted its commitment to strengthening the local community by donating $80,000 to four local non-profits. The credit union presented $20,000 checks to The Epicenter, Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay, The Wahine Project, and Veterans Transition Center of California, supporting programs in education, housing, and community development.

Attendees also had the opportunity to meet AVP, Branch Manager Denise Gomez and the entire Marina team, who gave tours of the modern branch. Designed as a model for future Bay Federal locations, the branch combines improved member flow and new digital technology with a welcoming design, where innovation and personal service come together to enhance the member experience.

Bay Federal will continue the celebration with a month-long grand opening, featuring food trucks and member appreciation events. Follow along for details on social media or at bayfed.com/marina.
