Premier Members Credit Union Launches Partnership with Wompost to Expand Compost Access for Colorado Front Range

PMCU first credit union to join Wompost’s Community Collection Program

Premier Members Credit Union (PMCU) has become the first credit union in Colorado to join regional business Wompost’s Community Compost Drop-Off Program, expanding compost access in many cities of the Front Range Metro.

As a result of a recent merger with Clemintine Composting, Wompost has more than doubled their service area to cover a much larger percentage of the northern Front Range. This prompted a need for Wompost to find new community partners to serve their rapidly growing customer base’s drop-off needs. That’s where PMCU came into the picture.

Working together, Wompost and PMCU identified 11 of the credit union’s branches to be included in the Community Drop-Off Program. Now, Wompost’s new and existing customers have a new place to take their compostable waste, avoiding the creation of harmful methane gases that would have come from landfilling the waste.

“Teaming up with Wompost to increase access to composting is a “no-brainer” choice for our Sustainability Program” said PMCU’s Senior Sustainability Specialist Garrett Chappell. “Composting is one of the most effective things we can do to combat the climate crisis, and a credit union’s branch is a physical representation of our commitment to supporting the strength and wellbeing of our members and neighbors. Expanding how we serve our communities to include compost access is a natural fit for our mission and values.”
