Sikorsky Credit Union Awards Scholarships To Area High School Students

Sikorsky Credit Union recently awarded five $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors preparing to enter college this fall.

Sikorsky Credit Union is pleased to announce the recipients of the Thomas J. Williams Scholarship Program for 2024. The program was named in honor of former CEO Thomas J. Williams, who passed away in 2015, and reflects our commitment to supporting the educational endeavors of high school seniors within our community.

Each year, Sikorsky Credit Union awards five scholarships to deserving high school seniors who show academic promise and dedication to furthering their education. The $1,000 scholarship will assist recipients with tuition, books, or other college-related expenses.

Applicants must be a member of Sikorsky Credit Union and submit an essay on the topic of money management. We are pleased to announce the following individuals as our 2024 scholarship winners: Anna Capelle, Selma Krehic, Matthew Conelius, Mark Sheehe and Liam Keatley.

Sikorsky Credit Union has promoted the benefit of youth fiscal literacy for many years. In addition to our annual scholarship program, the Credit Union also organized Financial Reality Fairs at Bunnell High School, Stratford High School, Ansonia High School and Shelton High School. Approximately 750 students participated and learned about managing personal finances and the importance of budgeting.

Ken Ferrari, SVP/Chief Lending Officer at Sikorsky Credit Union, highlighted the significance of providing support for local students.
