The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) announced today that it has retained Elizabeth Eurgubian of Atlas Advocacy, a respected government relations and advocacy consultant, to expand its regulatory advocacy efforts on behalf of credit unions.
“Credit unions are facing an increasingly complex and evolving regulatory environment, and it is vital that our members’ voices resonate with policymakers,” said Anthony Hernandez, DCUC President/CEO. “By bringing Elizabeth on board, we are strengthening our ability to shape the regulatory landscape so that credit unions can grow, expand, and best serve their members and communities.”
“As DCUC continues to expand its advocacy team to meet the evolving needs of our rapidly growing membership, partnering with Atlas Advocacy and Elizabeth ensures we bring unmatched expertise and influence to our efforts,” said Jason Stverak, DCUC Chief Advocacy Officer. “Their leadership will help us deliver the strongest possible advocacy for our members in Washington, D.C., and across the nation.”
Eurgubian brings extensive experience in financial services policy. She previously served as Director of the Office of External Affairs and Communications at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and as Policy Advisor to former Chairman Todd Harper. Prior to her NCUA service, she was Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer for Regulatory Affairs at the Credit Union National Association, now America’s Credit Unions. Her career also includes serving as a regulatory attorney for the Independent Community Bankers of America, in-house counsel to Sallie Mae, Inc., and as an attorney with the Federal Reserve.
Through this partnership, DCUC reaffirms its commitment to delivering the highest level of advocacy for credit unions, their members, and the communities they serve.
