Community Choice Credit Union today announced that President and CEO Rob Bava has been named the 2026 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award by the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL).
The Distinguished Service Award honors an individual who has been exceptionally supportive of the Michigan credit union movement, reaching beyond their own institution. Recipients are recognized for going above and beyond in advocacy and demonstrating a lifelong commitment to advancing positive change across the industry as a whole.
Throughout his career, Bava has championed initiatives that strengthen credit unions across Michigan, helping to expand access, promote financial well-being, and elevate the role of cooperative finance in communities statewide.
In recognition of all MCUL award honorees, MCUL President and CEO Patty Corkery said, “Every one of these award winners embodies the heart of the credit union mission. Their leadership, advocacy, innovation and community commitment make Michigan’s credit union movement stronger. We’re honored to recognize their outstanding contributions.”
Bava will be formally recognized at MCUL’s Annual Convention & Exposition (AC&E) in June in Grand Rapids.
