Everwise Credit Union announced today a new partnership with Greenlight® Financial Technology, Inc. (“Greenlight”) to help families teach kids smart money habits and build healthy financial futures.
Starting July 1, all Everwise members have free** access to Greenlight’s award-winning family finance app, available through the Greenlight for Credit Unions program. Currently, Everwise is the only credit union in Indiana that offers its members this free access.
With Greenlight, families can take advantage of debit cards for kids and an app with parental controls and powerful tools to help children learn money management through hands-on experience.
Parents can send money to their kids quickly, manage their debit cards, set parental controls on spending categories, and receive real-time purchase notifications. They can also tie allowances to chore completion and activate savings boosts like Round-Ups and Parent Paid Interest, facilitating discussions about smart money habits with their children.
Kids benefit by managing their own debit card, setting and achieving savings goals, and learning about money through financial literacy games. They can receive payments from friends and family, earn allowances for completing chores, set up direct deposit for after- school jobs, and add their card to their mobile wallet.
