JetStream Federal Credit Union is proud to highlight the efforts of longtime, 30-year member Donavan White, who launched a community-driven relief initiative to support individuals still struggling from the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, which struck Jamaica on October 14, 2025.
According to recent assessments, more than 12,500 residents remain displaced or without reliable access to necessities and assistance continues to be urgently needed. In response to this need, White has already coordinated seven shipments of non-perishable canned goods, bottled water, toiletries, and dry goods for affected families.
JetStream Federal Credit Union quickly stepped in to assist by collecting additional supplies at its Miami Lakes branch, encouraging members and community residents to drop off essential items. These contributions have now been added to Donavan’s shipments, helping extend relief to even more households in need.
“Donavan has shown remarkable generosity and dedication to helping others in crisis,” said Patricia Alonso Berguelich, Member Service Representative at Jetstream’s Miami Lakes branch, who first brought this opportunity forward. “We are honored to support Donavan’s efforts and encourage others in the community to join him.”
White will continue collecting items and welcomes partnerships with any individuals, organizations, or businesses interested in supporting the ongoing relief effort.
