The NCUA updated the ACET application, which is available for download from the NCUA website. The ACET assists credit unions in assessing their defenses against cybersecurity attacks and aligns with the National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework 2.0.

Credit unions of all sizes remain targets of both cybercriminals and foreign nations that intend to cause harm to U.S. critical infrastructure, especially the financial services sector. The NCUA encourages credit unions to use the ACET application to assess cybersecurity preparedness levels. ACET has been tailored specifically for credit unions and includes a user-friendly application interface, enhanced reporting features, and supplementary information.

The NCUA will continue to support ACET development and will align future content with evolving standards and frameworks, such as the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s Cross Sector Cybersecurity Performance Goals.

For more tools and resources, please visit the NCUA’s Cybersecurity Resource Center. For questions or concerns regarding ACET or cybersecurity in general, please contact your NCUA examiner.
