South Carolina Federal Credit Union is now accepting applications for its 16th annual scholarship program. The credit union will award $60,000 to 10 outstanding students attending a traditional or technical college in South Carolina for the fall 2026 semester.
Applicants are asked to submit a short essay detailing how their education will empower them to give back to their community and positively impact the lives of South Carolinians. They will also provide an overview of their volunteer commitments, academic achievements, work experience, and financial need. A dedicated group of credit union employees and a panel of third-party judges will review the applications.
“This year, we’re expanding the impact of our scholarship program by awarding an extra $15,000 in scholarships,” said Scott Woods, President and CEO of South Carolina Federal. “Investing in local students is one of the most meaningful ways we can support the communities we serve.”
Eligible applicants must be a high school or undergraduate student, have an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be a legal U.S. resident to apply. The first-place winner in the traditional college category will receive a $15,000 scholarship, and the first-place technical school winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
Students can visit scfederal.org/scholarship to review eligibility requirements and complete the online application. The deadline to apply is January 28, and winners will be announced in April
