Tucson Federal Credit Union (TFCU) was honored with the Boxcar Capital Award in the Financial Services category at the Vail Chamber of Commerce’s Golden Spike Awards, held at Desert Diamond Casino, in recognition of its significant growth and positive economic impact in the Vail and Southeast Tucson region.
The Golden Spike Awards brought together leading business and community leaders – “Southeast Economic Engines” – to celebrate their contribution to the area’s vitality and development. TFCU was recognized for expanding access to affordable financial services, supporting community growth, and strengthening its presence through the Rita Ranch branch.
Representing TFCU at the distinguished ceremony, Rita Ranch Branch Manager Makayla Dehne accepted the recognition on behalf of the credit union, receiving both the ceremonial award and a congressional certificate acknowledging TFCU’s commitment to community prosperity.
“Serving members throughout our region is a priority for TFCU,” said Matthew Gaspari, TFCU President & CEO. “We are deeply committed to serving Vail and the Southeastern Tucson community.’
This recognition reflects not only TFCU’s growth, but also their dedication to empowering local families, businesses, and organizations in areas that historically haven’t had access with financial tools that create long-term prosperity.
The formal recognition ceremony combined with the high regard in which TFCU is held underscored the appreciation the business community and outlying districts have for TFCU’s contributions to the area.
