Vibe Credit Union Secures Naming Rights for Novi Showplace, Pledges Deeper Local Investment

Vibe Credit Union has announced a significant partnership, securing the naming rights for the regional landmark currently known as the Suburban Collection Showplace at 46100 Grand River Ave. Effective January 1, 2026, the venue will be officially renamed the Vibe Credit Union Showplace.

The renaming reflects Vibe Credit Union’s local commitment and its belief that major public venues should carry names tied to local identity, local accountability and local investment.

“Vibe Credit Union works to lead our industry in the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people.’ Our purpose of ‘Elevating Community. Creating Opportunity’ are not just words on a wall but the guiding principle in all we do,” said Chaz Rzewnicki, President & CEO, Vibe Credit Union. “As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, our profits stay in the region. Growth drives our ability to make a bigger impact locally – and that is what this partnership offers – a way to inform the community about Vibe Credit Union and help people on a much larger scale.”

The transition of the showplace to the Vibe Credit Union Showplace connects the regional civic landmark with an institution that has served the Detroit Region since 1936. Vibe Credit Union’s story is rooted in two local cooperative legacies: first in 1936 with employees of the Michigan Bell Telephone Company, and the second with the founding of Oakland County Credit Union in 1953. These histories combined to create Vibe Credit Union, which now serves over 74,000 members across Southeast Michigan with $1.35 billion in assets.

The Vibe Credit Union Showplace naming mirrors a growing movement where residents seek out institutions committed to local reinvestment.

As Vibe Credit Union profits remain within the community, members directly benefit through local lending with better rates, lower fees, expanded financial education, and charitable support. In 2024, Vibe eliminated all non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees, saving members $1.1 million annually, and continues to operate with an above-average cost of funds driven by intentionally higher dividends and loan rates that are consistently below market. Vibe Credit Union has a proven track record as an industry leader in giving back—contributing nearly 8,000 community service hours in 2025 alone and providing $650,000 in direct financial support to nonprofit organizations this year, including efforts that help ensure families have consistent meals and safe, reliable places to live.

By continuing to strengthen its roots in Southeast Michigan, Vibe is expanding the pathway to more accessible, affordable, and equitable financial services for everyone in the community. The credit union is already dedicated to public space, offering a 130-person community center at its Novi headquarters and shared spaces in every branch. The Vibe Credit Union Showplace will significantly grow the possibilities for community events and connection.

“We are proud to welcome Vibe Credit Union as our new naming rights partner. This partnership represents a shared vision for growth, innovation, and community connection. Together, we look forward to elevating the guest experience, expanding the positive impact we have across Southeast Michigan, and creating new opportunities that strengthen the region we serve. We’re honored to embark on this journey with Vibe,” Blair Bowman Sr., Showplace Ownership.

The Superlative Group, Inc., an industry leader in naming rights and sponsorship, served as a supporting agency between BoCo Enterprises and Vibe Credit Union.
