Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Reports Strong Year of Impact at Annual Meeting

The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation (MnCUF) held its Annual Meeting on July 10, 2025, highlighting a year of impactful initiatives focused on financial well-being, professional development, and cooperative growth.

During the meeting, Board Chair Doug Ralston, President/CEO of Centricity Credit Union, reported on the Foundation’s 2024 accomplishments, which included: 

  • Awarding more than $46,000 in professional development and financial education grants and scholarships 
  • Launching a new Small Credit Union Technology Assistance Grant to support digital improvements 
  • Serving as a fund intermediary for De Novo Credit Unions as they raise funds for charter requirements 
  • Honoring three Credit Union Builders for outstanding service to the movement 
  • Collaborating with partners to offer credit union training programs, including “Exploring Why” with the National Credit Union Foundation, and “Enhanced Financial Counseling Certification” (FiCEP) with America’s Credit Unions, CU Difference, and the Wisconsin and Montana Credit Union Foundations 
  • Facilitating charitable giving through Foundation Committees, including $128,000 raised for Gillette Children’s Hospitals and Clinics by Minnesota Credit Union for Kids, and $18,000 in scholarships awarded to Minnesota credit union members by the Foundation Scholarship Council 

Board elections were also held during the meeting. Kayla Reiffenberger, CEO of Co-Op Credit Union of Montevideo, and Bob Gerads, CEO of Mid Minnesota Credit Union, were elected to serve three-year terms on the MnCUF Board of Directors. 

“The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation’s mission is to empower credit unions and their communities through education and collaboration,” said Mara Humphrey, President of the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation and the Minnesota Credit Union Network. “The achievements of the past year reflect the collective commitment of Minnesota credit unions to that mission.”
