Several Credit Unions Announce New Hires/Promotions

Several credit unions announced changes of leadership within their teams, including Consumers Credit Union, Redwood Credit Union, and Tower Federal Credit Union.

New Hires:

  • Jennifer O’Reilly has joined Redwood Credit Union (RCU) as senior vice president of Enterprise Risk Management. In her role, O’Reilly will lead RCU’s risk and assurance teams, namely risk management, compliance, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering, internal audit, vendor management, and business continuity.
  • Tower Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the hiring of Brad Giese as new Vice President/Information Security Officer. Giese brings to Tower over 25 years of experience leading high-impact cybersecurity programs across federal, defense, and financial sectors. As VP/ISO, Giese will be responsible for advancing Tower’s security strategy; overseeing threat resilience, compliance, and risk management functions; and aligning cybersecurity initiatives with the credit union’s overall goals.
  • People’s Credit Union has appointed Kelly Matteson as Head of Deposit Services. Reporting to the Head of Member Delivery & Marketing, she will oversee Deposit Services activities and processing, including the IRA program, the overdraft privilege program, and new deposit account opening and maintenance, as well as ATM/Debit cards, ACH settlement, remote/mobile check deposit and ATM balancing.
  • In an era where member expectations are evolving faster than ever, APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) invests in leadership that merges innovation with purpose. The credit union is proud to announce the hiring of Kevin Stehl as its new Chief Experience Officer—a strategic move that underscores APGFCU’s commitment to delivering exceptional member experiences through data-driven insight, digital transformation, and unwavering service.

Promotions:

  • Consumers Credit Union is proud to announce the promotion of five team members into leadership roles across the organization, reflecting the credit union’s ongoing commitment to internal growth and exceptional service.
    • Jennifer Smith has been promoted to vice president of human resources and will continue to lead talent management strategies and support a positive workplace culture. Smith has over 15 years of experience at Consumers, including roles in member service, marketing and HR. She holds an MBA from Davenport University, a BBA from Western Michigan University and multiple HR certifications, including SPHR and SHRM-SCP.
    • Stephanie Stacey has been promoted to Grand Rapid regional vice president, where she will oversee business development, strategic planning and team growth across the Grand Rapids market. Stacey began her career at Consumers in 2011 as a teller and has since held several roles, including office manager and regional manager. With a background in hospitality and a passion for leadership, she brings a member-first mindset and a deep understanding of team development to her new role. 
    • Dan Engblom has been promoted to vice president of technology services, where he will lead employee technology support and strategic IT initiatives. Engblom has been with Consumers for 14 years, beginning his career as a teller before transitioning to IT, where he has spent the past 12 years in roles ranging from intern to support manager. His experience across both frontline service and back-end operations gives him a unique perspective on delivering impactful technology solutions.
    • Reneé Ziska has been promoted to senior mortgage sales manager, leading the mortgage sales team in delivering exceptional service and expanding into new markets. Ziska joined Consumers in 2008 and has held several roles, including teller, retail manager and mortgage loan officer. With a degree in business management from Western Michigan University, she brings a deep understanding of the mortgage process and a passion for helping members achieve homeownership. 
    • Austin Hawkins has been named office manager of the Lake Lansing location, overseeing daily operations, business development and team performance. Hawkins brings a diverse background in credit union operations, contact center leadership and business services. His passion for mentoring and community engagement makes him a strong asset to the Lansing market. 
  • TRUE Community Credit Union is excited to announce the promotion of two leaders: Jennifer Hodges to Vice President of Marketing, and Maranda Kemler to Vice President of Risk Management.
  • Royal Credit Union announces Jack Livingston as Vice President-Commercial Loan Officer in St. Paul. In this position, Livingston will be responsible for developing and managing a complex portfolio of commercial and commercial real estate loans and deposits while building new and existing Member relationships.
  • Bay Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the leadership team for its new branch opening in Marina, California. Longtime team member Denise Gomez has been appointed Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager, and Lily Garcia-Johnson will serve as Assistant Branch Manager. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional service to the Marina community.
