In recognition of International Credit Union Day on October 16, Travis Credit Union (TCU) is celebrating its transformational member impact, improving lives through access to financial services, education, and community resources. With nearly 75 years of service in Northern California, TCU, recently recognized as a 2025 Great Place to Work®, continues to deliver personalized, value-driven banking that puts people over profit.

Unlike big banks, credit unions prioritize community-focused initiatives and serving members, rather than generating profit. In the past year alone, Travis Credit Union has lifted up the region, and the impact speaks volumes:

Local Economy:

· $1.1 billion total economic influence across the region, with $78 million in payroll, and $5 million in taxes paid to support public infrastructure

Financial Education:

· 9,000+ people empowered through financial education, including:

o 6,000 youth gaining real-world money skills

o 2,000 military personnel supported with financial readiness tools

· $40,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors

· $5,000 in grants to K–12 educators across Northern California through their newly launched Teacher Grant Program

Community Support:

· 455 community events creating touchpoints for connection and support

· 131 nonprofit partners supported, deepening TCU’s community roots

· 19,000 pounds of food donated to local food banks in the last year

“Our impact isn’t measured by profit, but by progress in our members’ lives,” said Jennifer Victor, vice president of branch sales and service at Travis Credit Union. “Every loan we fund, every educational workshop we deliver, and every donation we make reflects our purpose: empowering members to build a better financial future.”

Unlike big banks that return profits to shareholders, credit unions reinvest earnings directly into their members and local communities. That means lower fees, better rates—and real impact where it matters most.

For TCU, that means celebrating Member Appreciation Giveaway October 16-18, by selecting ten members to receive $500 in a special giveaway and donating $10,000 to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano and the Merced Food Bank. These donations reflect the ongoing commitment to giving back and supporting local communities. Click here to learn more and
