Texas Trust Gives Foundation Awards $70,000 in Scholarships

College scholarships up to $10,000 were awarded to 26 students by the Texas Trust Credit Union Gives Foundation. A total of $70,000 was awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Scholarship recipients attend seven different universities and colleges, pursuing a variety of associate, undergraduate, and graduate degrees. These include business, nursing, education, engineering, visual arts, and liberal arts. Scholarships were also awarded to several students pursuing certifications in trade-oriented programs.

“At Texas Trust, we believe that an investment in education is the most powerful way to build a brighter financial future for our community,” said Washima Huq, Executive Director of the Texas Trust Gives Foundation. “By awarding scholarships to these remarkable students, we are investing in the next generation of leaders and ensuring they have the foundation needed to achieve lifelong financial success.”

  • Victoria Neri, Angelo State University
  • Briget Guevara, Jeremy Albo, Sierra Mendoza, Jeremiah Ponce, and Dausen Walker attending Howard College in San Angelo 
  • Paul Quinn College students, Justin Banks, Arielle Clayborne, Semiyaes Gatlin, Sydney Gilmore, Malcom King, Makeda Montgomery, Jakayla Morrow, Dariah Robinson-Bates, Kiera Trotter, Alexander Warren, Lailah Washington, and Sarina Watson
  • John Martinez, Tarrant County College Northeast
  • Lacey Demus, Tarrant County College Southeast
  • David Figueroa and Dawn Mercer, students at Trinity Valley Community College in East Texas
  • Jamie Greeson and Kennedy Greer from the University of North Texas
  • Sonali Mittal and Angel Vidal, University of Texas at Arlington

“I am deeply honored to be a recipient of the Texas Trust Gives Foundation scholarship,” said Angelo State University student Victoria Neri. “This support represents more than just financial assistance; it is a powerful investment in my potential. Pursuing my bachelor of science in nursing has been a rewarding challenge, and this generosity allows me to focus my full energy on preparing for my upcoming role in the intensive care unit at Shannon Medical Center.”

She added, “I am truly inspired by Texas Trust’s commitment to education, and I hope to one day give back to my community with the same spirit the credit union has shown me.”
