The Credit Union Impact Foundation, the charitable arm of The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates, is reflecting on a year of meaningful impact in 2025 through programs and partnerships that supported credit unions and the communities they serve.
Through these efforts, the Foundation distributed $335,181 in grants, supporting 142 credit unions through community impact, credit union development, professional development, and progress fund programs. Community Impact Grants supported a variety of initiatives, including youth financial education programs and campus-based financial counseling efforts. One initiative enrolled three University of Alabama students in a five-step program designed to provide peer-to-peer financial counseling to fellow students.
“Credit unions continue to demonstrate the power of collaboration when it comes to strengthening financial well-being in our communities,” said Bobbi Grady, Executive Director of the Credit Union Impact Foundation. “Through these programs and initiatives, the Foundation is proud to support the work credit unions are doing every day to expand financial education, strengthen their teams, and create meaningful impact in communities across our footprint.”
The Foundation also continued to expand financial education and professional development programs in 2025. The Bite of Reality program reached 1,387 students, while 54 credit union staff completed the Financial Counseling Certification Program.
Fundraising efforts like the 4th Annual Credit Union Loan Source (CULS) Charity Golf Invitational brought credit union professionals together for a day of friendly competition and connection, raising more than $106,000 to support the Foundation’s programs. The golf tournament returns for its fifth year on May 4, continuing to bring credit union leaders together to support the Foundation’s efforts.
The Foundation also released its latest Credit Union Impact Report, highlighting the meaningful difference credit unions make in communities every day.
