ViClarity just made a power move in the compliance world. The governance, risk, and compliance solutions provider has tapped Josh McAfee as their new Vice President of Services—and if his track record is any indication, they chose wisely.
So what exactly will McAfee be doing? He’s taking the helm of ViClarity’s compliance consulting, audit services, and credit union league compliance support teams. Think of him as the person making sure everything runs smoothly while also keeping an eye on what’s next. His mandate: nail the day-to-day performance while building relationships that actually last.
McAfee’s Background: More Than Just a Resume
McAfee isn’t exactly new to this rodeo. He spent the last seven years as a Senior Director and Advisor at Callahan & Associates, where he built and managed over 200 strategic relationships with credit unions. His secret weapon? Using data and analytics to help executives make smarter decisions instead of just going with their gut.
Before that, he logged eight years in marketing leadership at MAX Credit Union and Leaders Credit Union. There, he worked across departments on the big-ticket projects—the kind that grow assets, tighten up strategic plans, and find ways to trim the fat from budgets.
What McAfee Has to Say
“Today, I see a landscape for regulated American service providers that’s growing in complexity, and new dimensions of enterprise risk changing the success formula,” McAfee explained. “ViClarity is well-positioned with its seasoned team of compliance experts and its innovative automation platform to help providers form a quick, confident response. I’m grateful to the organization for trusting me to build on its strong reputation.”
Translation: The compliance world is getting messier, and ViClarity has the right mix of smart people and smart tech to help organizations navigate it.
The Leadership Weighs In
ViClarity Global CEO John “Ogie” Sheehy didn’t hide his enthusiasm about the hire: “It’s rare to find experienced trailblazers with this kind of expertise and enthusiasm for risk and compliance. We are very fortunate to add Josh to our team. We are thrilled he sees ViClarity as the optimal place to both contribute and grow his expertise, and we look forward to watching him help our clients achieve great things for their organizations.”
Murray Williams, who serves as both ViClarity’s Board Chairman and CEO of the Iowa Credit Union League (a partner and part-owner of ViClarity), echoed that excitement: “Josh is well-known among those of us in the credit union industry who had the pleasure of working with him during his Callahan tenure. He brings tremendous energy and strategic ideas to every interaction. I can’t wait to see how he helps ViClarity elevate its already-impressive position as a trusted service provider.”
The Personal Side
Beyond the professional credentials, McAfee holds a B.B.A. from Harding University and has tackled business strategy coursework through Harvard Business School. He serves on the Board of Trustees for a local school and stays active in his church. He calls Jackson, Tennessee home, where he lives with his family.
It’s the kind of addition that suggests ViClarity isn’t just filling a position—they’re investing in someone who can help them grow in an increasingly complicated regulatory environment. And for organizations trying to keep up with compliance demands, that’s welcome news.
