If you’re going to pitch your big idea anywhere, doing it in front of 500 credit union leaders at a Disney resort seems like a pretty solid start.
That’s exactly what Charm Security did—and they walked away with the win.
At NACUSO’s Reimagine Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, Charm was named the 2026 Next Big Idea Competition winner. The National Association of Credit Union Service Organizations runs this annual competition to spotlight innovations that could reshape how credit unions operate and serve their members.
Here’s how it worked: Companies submitted solutions that tackle real credit union challenges, scale across institutions of different sizes, and check the boxes for innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. Four finalists made the cut, and each got 10 minutes on stage to convince the crowd their idea was worth betting on. After the pitch came the hot seat—a Q&A with a panel of industry veterans who weren’t afraid to ask the tough questions.
So what made Charm stand out? Real-time fraud prevention with a psychological twist.
“Charm’s member-focused solution emerged as this year’s winner for its ability to prevent real-time fraud,” explained Randy Salser, President and CEO of NACUSO. “Through The Next Big Idea Competition, NACUSO is thrilled to support creative solutions that propel the credit union ecosystem forward.”
Roy Zur, CEO and Co-Founder of Charm Security, credited the win to their unique approach. “Joining fraud prevention expertise with a deep understanding of human psychology proved a winning combination today,” he said. “We’re excited to work alongside an industry where security is of the upmost importance.”
And because every competition needs a shoutout to the runners-up who brought their A-game: congratulations to the other three finalists—Duome, Crebit, and Starlight. Making it to the finals in front of that audience is no small feat.
