Two credit unions, including MSU Federal Credit Union, announced the results of their board elections, and the Minnesota Credit Union Network announced the names of the Outstanding Professional of the Year and the Outstanding Director of the Year.
New Hires:
- The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) is pleased to welcome TaVon Sneed as Executive Office Manager at DCUC Headquarters in Washington, D.C. In this role, Sneed will support DCUC’s executive leadership, Board of Directors, and staff by providing high-level administrative, operational, and facility management support. She will oversee daily headquarters operations, manage executive calendars, and coordinate special projects to help ensure organizational efficiency and continuity.
- LBS Financial Credit Union is excited to announce the appointment of Donald Carazo as senior vice president of member services. In his new position, Donald will oversee various departments within the credit union and continue to support its growth. Donald brings 20 years of credit union industry experience and has also served in credit union leadership roles.

- The Minnesota Credit Union Network (MnCUN) presented the Outstanding Credit Union Professional and Director of the Year at a celebration held during the MnCUN ACCELERATE 26 Conference on April 28 at the Mystic Lake Center in Prior Lake, Minn. The 2026 Outstanding Professional of the Year is Brent Rempe, President & CEO of First Alliance Credit Union, and the Outstanding Director of the Year is Kenneth Kurth, Board Member of Mayo Employees Federal Credit Union.
- Telhio Credit Union announced that Derrick Bailey, Chief Executive Officer, has been named to Columbus Business First’s 2026 Power 125 ranking, which recognizes the most influential business leaders shaping the trajectory of central Ohio’s economy. The annual list highlights executives who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and community commitment across the region.
- Day Air Credit Union is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer Bill Burke has been named the recipient of the Robert Kloss Professional Achievement Award, one of the Ohio Credit Union League’s highest honors recognizing exceptional leadership and long-term contributions to the credit union movement. The Robert Kloss Professional Achievement Award is presented annually to a credit union CEO or senior executive who demonstrates outstanding professionalism, integrity, dedication, and leadership within their organization and across the broader credit union movement.
Promotions:
- Austin Telco Federal Credit Union (ATFCU) has promoted Brad Meley to Vice President (VP) of Commercial Lending. Brad joined ATFCU in the summer of 2025 and has quickly made an impact supporting existing members, collaborating with employees across departments, and engaging in community events throughout Central Texas. He also works with non-members seeking capital to expand their businesses, helping grow the credit union’s commercial lending footprint in the region.

- MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) President and CEO April Clobes announced that three individuals have been elected to the MSUFCU Board of Directors for three-year terms. Elected board members include Bill Beekman and Elizabeth Lawrence. Lynne Zelenski has transitioned from Associate Director to Director. Members of the MSUFCU Board of Directors also include Ernest Betts, Angela Brown, Quinetta Roberson Connally, Gregory Deppong, Steven Kurncz, and Janet Lillie, Vennie Gore and Karin Hanson as Associate Directors, and Michael Hudson as Director Emeritus. The Board also elected Gregory Deppong as Treasurer and Steven Kurncz as Secretary to serve on the Executive Committee, joining Chair Janet Lillie and Vice Chair Elizabeth Lawrence. In addition to Board elections, MSUFCU announced several updates across its Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, and its wholly owned credit union service organization, Reseda Group.
- BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATES
- Vennie Gore has transitioned from the MSUFCU Supervisory Committee to serve as Associate Director on the Board of Directors. Gore is Executive Vice President for Administration at Michigan State University, where he oversees multiple departments.
- Michael Hudson has transitioned to emeritus status after serving on the Supervisory Committee from 2011-2014 and on the MSUFCU Board of Directors since June 2014. A longtime advocate for accessibility and inclusion, Hudson previously led the MSU Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities for more than 32 years.
- SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE
- Amy Basel has joined MSUFCU’s Supervisory Committee, transitioning from the Reseda Group Board. Basel serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Revenue Officer at Delta Dental of Michigan, with prior experience at Deloitte, Kraft Foods, and Kemper Insurance.
- RESEDA GROUP BOARD UPDATES
- Cheri Speier-Pero has been named to the Reseda Group Board of Managers. She is the Emeritus Ernst & Young Professor in Accounting and Information Systems at MSU’s Broad College of Business and joined the university in 1997. She previously served on the MSUFCU Supervisory Committee from 2007-2011 and the MSUFCU Board of Directors from 2011-2014.
- Ben Louagie has been appointed Associate Manager on the Reseda Group Board. He brings more than 20 years of experience in policy strategy, operations, and innovation commercialization, and currently advises Corewell Health’s Innovations Office while serving as a Health Care Investment Advisor for Michigan Rise.
- BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATES
- Royal Credit Union (Royal) held its 62nd Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 28, at Royal’s Corporate Center. Two board members were re-elected to three-year terms— Nancy Beltz and Tom Huffcutt. At the Reorganization Meeting, Tom Huffcutt was elected Chairperson; Doug Olson was elected Vice Chairperson; Bill Blackburn was elected Treasurer; and Jennifer McDonough was elected Secretary. Nancy Beltz, John Sackett, and Stuart Schaefer serve as Directors. Kris Petersen and Kristi Fox serve as Associate Board Members.
