“Buyers are moving between channels, payment methods and countries faster than most payment stacks can adapt.”
That’s how IXOPAY CEO Ajoy Krishnamoorthy describes the problem behind the company’s newest launch. The answer is IXO One, an AI-native, modular payments platform that pulls orchestration, payments intelligence, and tokenization into one offering.
The pitch is simple: buy what you need, build what you want, and change your mind later without tearing out your existing payment stack.
The Problem With Rigid Payment Stacks
Anyone who has tried to bolt a new payment method onto an old setup knows the drill. Fragmented systems and locked-in provider relationships turn every new opportunity into a heavy integration project. That means slower launches and higher costs.
IXOPAY says this friction feeds a familiar list of headaches: provider dependency, expensive migrations, missed savings, and technical debt that keeps compounding. IXO One aims to break that cycle. Merchants can add or remove components, build capabilities in-house, or switch providers, all without rebuilding from scratch.
Krishnamoorthy says the platform lets merchants plug into new payment methods, support AI-agent-initiated transactions, and add adapters for future needs. It’s designed for global merchants, fast-growing digital businesses, and platforms wrestling with multi-acquirer management. Their usual pain points include vendor lock-in, limited data portability, murky fee visibility, and steep engineering costs.
Why Analysts Are Paying Attention
Jordan McKee, Research Director at 451 Research by S&P Global, says payments have become a boardroom priority. Multi-processor architectures are spreading, and merchants want more flexibility. He also points to demand for newer frameworks that promise higher conversion, such as agentic commerce and accelerated guest checkout. His advice to providers: prioritize modular and composable offerings.*
What’s in IXO One
- IXOPAY’s orchestration, tokenization, and payments intelligence together in one modular, AI-native platform.
- The ability to buy ready-made capabilities, build differentiating ones, and own PSP connections through the Adapter SDK.
- A common portal and unified developer experience that merchants can adjust as needs change.
- IXO AI, a payment assistant that lets merchants ask questions about their payment data, spot what needs attention, and act on it.
The Agentic Suite
IXO One also targets agentic commerce, where AI agents shop and pay on a customer’s behalf. Its Agentic Suite has three parts:
Payment Agent. It connects merchant-owned shopping agents, IXOPAY-powered experiences, and supported third-party agents with less integration work. Connect once rather than integrating with every protocol.
Universal Tokens. Payment data can be stored and used across providers and buying experiences without exposing raw credentials to AI agents. Trust artifacts record agent identity, customer consent, and purchase intent, which helps with traceability and dispute investigations.
MCP Server. It lets approved AI assistants carry out authorized payment and tokenization tasks. It verifies existing user permissions, limits access to authorized vaults and capabilities, keeps API credentials away from the AI client, and logs actions for auditability.
Timing and Availability
IXOPAY will roll out IXO One in phases. General availability of the first unified experience and its flexible commercial model is planned for early 2027. Meanwhile, new and existing customers can buy and use IXOPAY’s current orchestration, tokenization, and payments intelligence products, backed by its connector network and integration development services.
Watch for how the phased rollout unfolds before that 2027 date, and for how quickly agentic commerce standards settle, since that will test how well the Agentic Suite holds up. More details are at .
