Golf Classic Raises $191K for Children’s Music Therapy and Life Services

Kids-N-Hope Foundation American Heritage CU annual Golf Classic

The Kids-N-Hope Foundation raised more than $191,000 at its 31st annual Golf Classic, held at Huntingdon Valley Country Club.

The outing is one of the Foundation’s signature events, and the money goes to music therapy programs and other child life services. This year’s presenting sponsors were ADVANTAGE powered by JMFA, Mid-Atlantic Property Maintenance, Shields Business Solutions, and Stifel.

A Full Day on the Course

In all, 160 golfers turned out for a sunny day of friendly competition. Prizes went to the winners of three skills contests, and the day also had a celebrity guest:

  • Longest Drive: for the player who hit it farthest
  • Putting Contest: for the steadiest hand on the green
  • Closest to the Pin: for the most accurate approach
  • Special guest: golf commentator and TV personality Steve Sands, brought in courtesy of Mastercard

Sands was stationed at one of the holes, where players could chat about his career, trade golf stories, and pose for a commemorative photo.

Banquet, Auction, and a Helicopter

After the round, volunteers and golfers headed to an Awards Banquet and a Silent Auction. The finale was the Helicopter Golf Ball Drop, in which hundreds of balls fell from a helicopter onto the green. The ball that landed closest to the hole won its owner a $5,000 cash prize.

Three Decades of Giving

Since it began, the Foundation has contributed more than $5.1 million to the music therapy program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). It has also supported other pediatric health and life services at local hospitals and not-for-profit organizations. The year 2026 marks the Foundation’s 30th anniversary, giving volunteers, supporters, and benefactors a chance to look back on what they’ve built together.

“It’s always an exciting day when Foundation supporters and event sponsors can enjoy a beautiful day on the course while raising funds for The Foundation,” said Founder and Chairman Bruce K. Foulke. “Putting this event forth for more than 30 years is truly an accomplishment and a reflection of the amazing advocacy of our Foundation supporters and volunteers. We are deeply appreciative to all our sponsors, business partners, credit union partners, volunteers, and event participants for their support of our Golf Classic and their unwavering commitment to the mission of the Kids-N-Hope Foundation.”

With the anniversary year still underway, watch for more celebrations from the Foundation and for news of how this year’s proceeds will support music therapy and child life programs in the Philadelphia area.
