Here’s the thing about hunger: it doesn’t take a holiday.
That’s why American Heritage Credit Union is firing up its 13th annual Spirit of Giving Food Drive, and they’re aiming high with a goal of collecting 20,000 pounds of food for families across the region.
From October 1st through November 28th, all 35 American Heritage branch locations will be accepting nonperishable food donations. Think canned soups, vegetables, meats, plus staples like rice and pasta—basically, the stuff that helps families put together real meals during the holiday season and beyond. Every single donation gets distributed to local food pantries and food banks in the communities where the credit union operates.
“We are deeply concerned about the increased need for food donations and the impact inflation continues to have on the communities we serve,” said Bruce K. Foulke, President and CEO of American Heritage. “I am grateful for the support this donation drive receives annually from our associates, business partners, and members. Your generosity helps to make a great impact on our regional food banks, food pantries, and service organizations, as well as the community members they support.”
What makes this drive especially cool is its hyperlocal approach. Each branch collects for a food bank or pantry that directly serves families in that specific area. Your donation doesn’t just disappear into some regional void—it actually helps your neighbors.
Where Your Donations Go
This year’s Spirit of Giving Food Drive will benefit nearly 20 organizations across the region, including:
