On behalf of Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) members, IMCU recently presented a check for $10,000 to Strides for Sarcoma as part of its exclusive Cancer Awareness Debit Card Program.
IMCU members nominate a different local cancer-related organization to be the beneficiary each year. Strides for Sarcoma was the selected beneficiary for the past year, receiving a contribution for each signature based transaction made with this card from March 2025 – February 2026.
IMCU presented the check to board members of Strides for Sarcoma on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
“We are incredibly grateful to IMCU for their continued support of Strides for Sarcoma and our mission,” said Gabriella Conjelko, Co-Founder, Strides for Sarcoma. “Partnerships like this not only help fund critical research, but also bring much-needed awareness to sarcoma, a cancer that remains underfunded and often overlooked. Together, we are making meaningful strides toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.”
John Newett, President and CEO of Indiana Members Credit Union, stated, “IMCU was proud to support Strides for Sarcoma on behalf of our members. Our Cancer Awareness Debit Card was created to benefit organizations that are making a meaningful impact, and Strides for Sarcoma’s commitment to raising awareness, supporting patients, and advancing research for sarcoma aligns perfectly with that mission.”
Founded by twins Gabriella and Nicholas Conjelko, Strides for Sarcoma was created after their family experienced the devastating impact of childhood cancer firsthand. Inspired by the courageous fight of their cousin Maia against Ewing’s Sarcoma, the organization was established in her honor to advance research, raise awareness, and support children and families affected by sarcoma. Working toward a future where sarcoma is no longer a life‑limiting diagnosis.
The card is available for issue to members at IMCU’s 32 Indiana locations. The IMCU Cancer Awareness Debit Card is an option to members with a free checking account and can be issued immediately through IMCU’s instant issue program, allowing members to receive their debit card on the spot.
The new beneficiary for the IMCU Cancer Awareness Debit Card will be announced in the coming weeks on IMCU’s website and social media platforms.
