SchoolsFirst FCU Recognizes Four San Diego School Superintendents at the Classroom of the Future Foundation Innovation in Education Awards

SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union presented the Innovative Superintendent and Team Award to four school district leaders in San Diego County during the 22nd Annual Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF) Innovation in Education Awards program held May 15 at SeaWorld San Diego.

SchoolsFirst FCU sponsored and presented the award to educational leaders for pioneering innovative programs that model the future of K-12 education. Josh Smith, vice president, school and community relations for SchoolsFirst FCU, recognized the following superintendents:

  • Dr. Leighangela Brady, National School District
  • Dr. Andree Grey, Encinitas Union School District
  • Dr. Holly McClurg, Del Mar Union School District
  • Dr. Gina Potter, San Ysidro School District

“For more than two decades, the Classroom of the Future Foundation has celebrated the visionary work happening in San Diego County schools,” said Smith of SchoolsFirst FCU. “We are proud to sponsor this annual event because of the impact it has on students, preparing them to thrive in a global society by supporting programs that improve learning opportunities.”

SchoolsFirst FCU received the CFF Business Team Award during the ceremony. The award recognized the Credit Union’s longstanding dedication toward the local education community, especially San Diego County’s educators.

Since 1997, CFF has united business, community and educational leaders to create innovative learning environments in San Diego County public schools. CFF works closely with the San Diego County Office of Education and is known for being the convener of business, community and educational leaders around innovation in education within the region. Moreover, CFF is a catalyst and champion for the creation of learning programs that apply proven business and technology-based practices in the school setting.
