The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates is excited to announce that Congressman Dale Strong (AL-05), Congressman Byron Donalds (FL-19), Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05), and Congressman Gerry Connolly (VA-11) have been named the 2024 Federal Lawmakers of the Year from their respective states. They were formally recognized last week at the America’s Credit Unions Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C.
“Credit unions are the key to financial stability and resilience for millions of families and businesses across America, and Congressmen Strong, Donalds, Williams, and Connolly have shown unwavering commitment to championing policies that strengthen this vital industry,” mentioned Samantha A.M. Beeler, President of The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates. “Their leadership ensures that credit unions can continue to empower consumers, foster economic growth, and provide access to essential financial services in local communities. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and partnership in protecting and advancing the credit union mission.”
After being nominated by the Federal Advocacy Policy Committee, the nominations for Congressmen Dale Strong, Byron Donalds, Nikema Williams, and Gerry Connolly were unanimously approved by The League’s Board of Directors following discussion of their unrelenting support for credit unions and their legislative priorities.
