Any company can say it has a great culture. It’s harder to prove it when the only people grading you are the ones who work there. That’s the test Chartway Credit Union has passed again, earning a 2026 Utah Top Workplaces honor for the sixth year in a row.
How the Honor Works
The recognition covers one of Chartway’s three markets, alongside Texas and Virginia. The full list appears in the Salt Lake Business Journal, and it rests entirely on employee feedback. Energage, an employee engagement technology partner, runs the confidential third-party survey. It measures the employee experience through themes such as feeling Respected & Supported, Enabled to Grow, and Empowered to Execute.
Chartway CEO Brian Schools called Utah “an important part of Chartway” and said the recognition is “a reflection of our people, our values, and the culture they create every day.”
Jace White, SVP of Talent Engagement, said the award carries extra weight because it comes from team members themselves. In his words, Chartway’s Utah team “cares deeply about our members, the communities we serve, and one other,” and building a place where people feel supported, can reach their potential, and thrive is central to the company’s identity.
Energage CEO Eric Rubino framed it as a badge of honor precisely because it’s authentic. “In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard,” he said. “Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
A Crowded Trophy Shelf
Utah isn’t the only place Chartway is getting noticed. This year the credit union also earned its sixth consecutive USA Today Top Workplaces Award. It picked up 2026 Top Workplaces Culture Excellence and Industry Awards in eight categories as well:
