According to CEO Miguel Boluda, Jr., the rebrand is about honoring the past while acknowledging the present. “For generations, financial wellness has been at the heart of who we are and the people we serve,” he explained. “Our new name honors our PAHO/WHO roots, reaffirms our mission and more clearly reflects the broader community we proudly serve today.”
Translation: They’ve grown up. What started as a credit union serving the Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization community has evolved into something bigger. These days, Bienestar welcomes members from healthcare, education, and public service organizations across the region. The original mission hasn’t changed—they’ve just expanded the guest list.
What Actually Changes for Members?
The short answer? Pretty much nothing—at least not where it counts. Accounts stay the same. Services stay the same. That relationship you’ve built with the loan officer? Still intact. Think of it like when your favorite band changes their name but keeps playing all the hits you love.
