Inspire Federal Credit Union is 90 years old.
The Bucks County institution marked the milestone on October 6, 2026, and it’s celebrating with its members all month long.
From Teachers’ Credit Union to Inspire
The story began in 1936, when the organization opened as Bucks County Teachers Federal Credit Union. Over the following decades it expanded its reach and grew alongside the communities around it. In 2014, it took on its current name, Inspire Federal Credit Union.
The name changed. The mission, according to the credit union, did not: help members reach their financial goals and strengthen the local communities they live in.
What Inspire Offers Today
Inspire FCU now operates as a full-service financial cooperative. Members can turn to it for:
- Personal and business banking
- Lending and mortgages
- Investments
- Digital banking solutions
Through all of it, the credit union says it sticks with the member-first approach that has guided it for nine decades.
“Ninety years is an incredible milestone, and we’re grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey,” said Jim Merrill, President and CEO of Inspire Federal Credit Union. “For generations, our members have trusted us with life’s important financial moments, and we’re honored to continue serving our communities today and into the future.”
A Month of Celebrations
Throughout October, Inspire FCU is marking the anniversary with branch celebrations, member giveaways, raffles, and community-focused events across its branch network. The goal is simple: thank the members whose loyalty has carried the credit union through nine decades.
What to Watch For
Inspire says its priorities going forward match those it started with in 1936: excellent member service, support for the local community, and help for people building stronger financial futures at every stage of life. Members can keep an eye on their local branches for event details as October unfolds, and on how the credit union builds on those commitments in the years ahead.
