PenAir Credit Union (PenAir) is enhancing Pensacola’s financial health through the grand opening of its new Nine Mile Branch just off Westside Drive with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony held Tuesday, April 8. The credit union continues to grow and is committed to enhancing member experience with cutting-edge technology while maintaining personal relationships.

“This branch is not just for us; it’s for our community,” said Lee Morgan, President and CEO of PenAir Credit Union. “It’s an investment in the financial well-being of our members and in the neighborhoods we call home.”

This is the third location PenAir has opened in the last 15 months, including its branch on W. Nine Mile Rd. in Beulah, FL, which opened in February 2024, and a Panama City, FL commercial lending office, which opened in November 2024. The credit union is scheduled to open another branch in Crestview, FL, and start construction on a branch location in Fort Walton Beach, FL, later in 2025. The open-concept design of PenAir’s new facilities ties together streamlined technology and comfort, providing members with multiple ways to engage with PenAir team members for their banking needs.

“This is more than just a new building; it represents a step forward in how we serve our members and better meet their needs,” said Derrick Aguilar, SVP and Chief Experience Officer of PenAir. “We’re focused on delivering the personalized and friendly service our members have always known, while leveraging technology to provide greater convenience and choice.”

More than 50 people attended the brief outdoor ceremony in front of the Nine Mile Branch, including PenAir partners and vendors: Jesse Kirkland, DAG Architects; Dick Clarke, Michael Clarke, and Chuck Linn, Hanto & Clarke General Contractors; Jonathan Green, McKim & Creed; Landon Houston, STS Group; Will Wright, Greg DeBruicker and Lia Harbin, Emerald Coast Office Products; local officials: Escambia County Commissioners Steve Stroberger (District 1) and Steven Barry (District 5); Dr. Athena Du Pre, Brett Berg, and Tori Bennett, University of West Florida; along with members of PenAir’s Board of Directors, and staff.
