Indiana Members Credit Union just celebrated a decade of their Cancer Awareness Debit Card by bringing things full circle in the best possible way.
For the card’s 10th anniversary, IMCU members voted to name Pink Ribbon Connection as the 2026–2027 beneficiary. And here’s the kicker—Pink Ribbon Connection was the very first organization to benefit from this program back when it launched. Talk about a homecoming.
How It Actually Works
The concept is refreshingly straightforward. Every time you use your IMCU Cancer Awareness Debit Card for a signature transaction between March 1, 2026, and February 28, 2027, a portion goes directly to Pink Ribbon Connection. IMCU will donate up to $10,000 over the year, which means your regular coffee runs and grocery trips can genuinely make a difference.
The card is available at any of IMCU’s 33 branches across Indiana. Got a free checking account with them? You can get the card issued instantly—like, walk in and walk out with it in hand. No waiting by the mailbox required.
Why Pink Ribbon Connection Matters
Founded in 2006, Pink Ribbon Connection has spent nearly two decades making sure nobody in Indiana faces breast cancer alone. They provide free wigs, mastectomy bras, prostheses, education, and peer mentoring—all at zero cost to the people who need them. We’re talking about immediate, practical support when families are dealing with one of life’s toughest challenges.
“To be chosen by IMCU members as the 2026–2027 beneficiary is both humbling and deeply meaningful to us, and especially exciting as we celebrate both IMCU’s 10th anniversary of this initiative and Pink Ribbon Connection’s 20th anniversary of service,” said April Williams, Executive Director of Pink Ribbon Connection. “Every swipe of this card helps us provide free, immediate support to individuals and families when they need it most.”
The organization touches over 4,000 lives each year across Indiana. That’s not a small number—that’s 4,000 people getting resources they need without worrying about the bill.
Coming Full Circle
John Newett, President and CEO of IMCU, captured what makes this anniversary special: “IMCU is honored to partner with Pink Ribbon Connection and support their mission of ensuring no one faces breast cancer alone. As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Cancer Awareness Debit Card, we are especially proud to name Pink Ribbon Connection, our very first beneficiary, as the recipient.”
It’s a partnership that highlights what community banking should look like—putting members’ values into action and supporting organizations that create real, measurable impact.
