Three Credit Unions Announce Promotions; Affinity FCU Chief Digital, Payments & Technology Officer Named Philadelphia Titan 100

Three credit unions, including Mountain America Credit Union and UMassFive College Federal Credit Union, announced promotions within their organizations, and Affinity Federal Credit Union‘s Chief Digital, Payments & Technology Officer was honored as a 2025 Philadelphia Titan 100.

New Hires:

  • APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) has appointed Beth Bavis as its vice president of business banking. She will succeed Debi Williams, who is set to retire in August after more than five years in the role. Bavis brings over 25 years of experience in commercial banking and financial services to APGFCU. Most recently, she served as vice president of member business banking at Point Breeze Credit Union, where she played a key role in streamlining loan application processes, enhancing member experiences, and promoting cross-departmental collaboration to improve efficiency. In 2024, Bavis was recognized by the Baltimore Business Journal for leading the fastest-growing commercial loan portfolio among all Greater Baltimore credit unions.
  • Gesa announced the hiring of three new Mortgage Market Sales Managers to support growth and expand home loan services in key markets. Enif Michael will serve the Tri-Cities area, Tina Ferderer will lead efforts in Spokane, and Dustin Lopez will oversee the Boise, Idaho market.

  • Affinity Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce Jack Allison, Chief Digital, Payments & Technology Officer, was recently honored as a 2025 Philadelphia Titan 100. The Titan 100 program recognizes Philadelphia’s most accomplished business leaders in their industry using criteria that include demonstrating exceptional leadership, vision, and passion.

Promotions:

  • Affinity Federal Credit Union (“Affinity”) is pleased to announce several strategic leadership promotions, effective June 1, 2025, that reflect the organization’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence and member wellbeing.
    • Pam Cohen has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO). This new title reflects the broad impact of her work across the organization. In her expanded role, Pam will oversee the credit union’s daily operations, including Lending, Loan Administration, Digital Branch, Risk Operations, Marketing, People & Culture, Financial Wellbeing, and more. She will also continue building strong cross-functional relationships to enhance the member experience.
    • MaryAnne Melanson has been promoted to Vice President, Strategy and Internal Communications. MaryAnne will continue to lead the development of Affinity’s organizational strategic plan and internal communications strategy while supporting board relations.
    • Ryan Marosy has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing. In this role, Ryan will lead brand strategy, marketing operations, and member acquisition efforts. Since joining Affinity, Ryan has spearheaded a digital-first transformation of the marketing team, introduced a performance-driven culture, and improved member engagement through personalization and technology enhancements.
  • Mountain America Credit Union is pleased to announce the promotion of Musheer Alambath to Senior Vice President of Internal Audit, effective June 1, 2025. In this newly created role, Alambath will continue to drive the credit union’s audit strategy and risk management framework as Mountain America advances its ambitious growth strategy and member-driven mission.
  • UMassFive College Federal Credit Union (UMassFive) is excited to announce that Christina Reynolds has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Account Operations. Christy began her career at UMassFive fifteen years ago as a part-time Online Banking Specialist in the Contact Center. Since then, she has taken on a variety of roles, including positions in our branches, as Card Services Manager, and most recently as Digital and Payments Manager. In her new role, Christy will oversee several key areas: Digital Banking (including online and mobile banking), Payments (ACH transactions, wires, and checks), Card Services (debit and credit cards), and Account Services (focused on fraud prevention, compliance, and risk management).

Appointments:

  • Workers Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine Cloonan and Paul Garcia to its Board of Directors. Both have extensive and diverse experience that will be instrumental in shaping the credit union’s strategic direction and furthering its mission to empower members and the community.
  • Vizo Financial Corporate Credit Union held its 2025 Annual Meeting on June 12, 2025. Member credit unions were invited to participate in the virtual event to hear executive/board reports and appointments to the Corporate’s board of directors. 
    • There were three candidates for three open board seats, so the following individuals were re-elected during the meeting for three-year terms: Jeff Chelius, CFO at Riverfront Federal Credit Union in Wyomissing, Pa.; Derrek Fuzzell, CFO/COO at PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union in Washington, D.C.; and Scott Woods, president/CEO at South Carolina Federal Credit Union in North Charleston, S.C. 
    • At Vizo Financial’s board of directors’ reorganization meeting, the following officers were reappointed: chair, Jeff Chelius, CFO of Riverfront Federal Credit Union in Wyomissing, Pa.; vice chair, Daniel Berry, CEO of Duke University Federal Credit Union in Durham, N.C.; treasurer, Genice DeCorte, CEO of HealthShare Credit Union in Greensboro, N.C.; and secretary, Derek Fuzzell, CFO/COO of PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union in Washington, D.C. 
    • The supervisory committee reappointed: chair, Amy Lichwa, CEO of Norwin Teachers Federal Credit Union in Irwin, Pa.; Elba Arenas, president/CEO of MC Federal Credit Union in Danville, Pa.; Diane Coleman Brown, CEO of Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union in Bowie, Md.; Maria LaVelle, CEO of Pheple Federal Credit Union in Greensburg, Pa; and Bill Yascko, VP/CFO of Call Federal Credit Union in Richmond, Va.
